Snoop Dogg was met with a wave of backlash from upset fans after he took center stage during an awkwardly-timed Super Bowl commercial.

As the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs, one of the high-profiled game’s coveted adverts saw the Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper appear in an anti-hate spot – which comes after his controversial performance at a bash celebrating President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In the brief clip, which was repeated for some viewers, the pair slated each other, explaining the reasons for their hate to highlight the Stand Up To All Hate campaign.

As they continued to trade insults, a message appeared on screen which read: ‘The reasons for hate are as stupid as they sound.’

‘Man, I hate that things are so bad that we have to do a commercial about it,’ Snoop – real name Calvin Broadus Jr – declared at the end.

However, many on social media took aim at the 53-year-old’s decision to star in the spot after his stint at the Trump celebration just a few weeks ago, following his previous criticisms of the controversial President.

BGUK_3147807 - Los Angeles, CA - Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady Stand Up To Hate in new Super Bowl ad. Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady engage in an anti-hate-off in a new Super Bowl 2025 commercial. For the new ad for What's Up With Hate, the rapper and former New England Patriots player exchange nasty heated sentiments that include: "I hate you because we from different neighborhoods." "I hate you because you look different." "I hate you because I don't understand you." "I hate you because people I know I hate you." "I hate you because I think you hate me." The pair then face each other almost nose to nose as a title card for the commercial, reads: ???The reasons for hate are as stupid as they sound." Snoop then says: "Man, I hate that things are so bad that we have to do a commercial about it." To which Brady replies, "Me too." Paid for by the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, the commercial calls for us all to stand up to hate. The ad aired during the big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday. *BACKGRID DOES NOT CLAIM ANY COPYRIGHT OR LICENSE IN THE ATTACHED MATERIAL. Flocking to Reddit, InevitableWhereas671 fumed: ‘Nah Snoop we’re still mad at you.’

‘Kind of ironic that Snoop did an anti-hate commercial then decided to perform for the orange man,’ HiddenSnarker agreed.

Knickstapeeee posted: ‘Snoop really lost every bit of credibility he had.’

‘The fact Snoop performed at trumps inauguration then did this is astounding lmao [sic],’ Melodic-Chemisty-40 commented.

NightQueen0889 insisted: ‘Snoop, you ain’t the one to be making that case right now when you play the inauguration ball for the haters [sic].’

Unimpressed Instagram fans also made their feelings hurt under the rapper’s latest post, with NefJones penning: ‘I found your Super Bowl ad disingenuous.

‘You support a man who does nothing but sow division, hate, and fear, and now you appear in an ad about eliminating hate? Really?’

‘You tell people to stand up to hate but yet you perform for that hateful felon in the white house, shame on you man,’ Benji_ngkk said.

As Erogers1128 added: ‘The Super Bowl ad would have meant something like about 2 months ago. Now it is just falling on deaf ears because it is so hypocritical.’

Snoop’s social media followers have continued to fall dramatically in the weeks since his performance at an event celebrating President Trump last month.

He took to the stage at the Crypto Ball – hosted by David Sacks, who was hired as an AI and Crypto Czar by the politician – with Rick Ross and Soulja Boy also on the bill.

The move left many surprised as the Sweat star had been vocal in his disagreement of the former Apprentice host in the past – he famously used a toy gun to shoot a fake Trump in a 2017 music video.

As well as this, he branded the President a ‘weirdo’, and labeled his supporters ‘racist’.

In a twist, Snoop backtracked last year and sung Trump’s praises in an interview with the Times, insisting: ‘Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me.’

Hitting back at the backlash after his performance, he vowed that he wanted to ‘answer with love for all the hate’.

‘Y’all can’t hate enough, I love too much,’ he said in a video last month. ‘Get your life right stop worrying about mine.

‘I’m cool, I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100% Black. All out until you ball out, or until you fall out.’

Metro has contacted Snoop Dogg’s reps for a comment.
