South Korean Singer Wheesung Found Dead at 43

South Korean singer Wheesung, known for his powerful vocals and emotional ballads, was found dead at his home in Seoul on March 10, 2025.

He was 43 years old at the time of his death.

The discovery was made after his mother alerted emergency responders, who arrived at his residence at 6:29 PM KST.

Authorities have stated that there were no signs of foul play, but the cause of death remains under investigation.

Wheesung debuted in 2002 and rose to fame with hits like “Insomnia” (2009) and “Heartsore Story” (2011). However, his career faced challenges in 2021 when he was convicted of habitual propofol use, receiving a suspended sentence.

He was scheduled to perform at a concert on March 15, just days after his death.

This news comes shortly after the death of actress Kim Sae-Ron, who faced career setbacks following a drunk driving incident in 2022.

Wheesung’s agency has requested that fans refrain from spreading unverified rumours out of respect for his family.
