A 17-year-old boy has pled guilty to planning a shooting at his own school in Edinburgh
The teenage boy attended a Midlothian high school, where he plotted a mass shooting. The boy has been charged with planning a terrorist attack, inspired by racist and pro-Nazi views. The court also heard how he “idolised” the perpetrators of the Columbine High School massacre, in which 15 people were murdered.
The boy fantasised about “clearing out” his fellow students, and was detected and monitored via his TikTok account, where he posted videos referring to his interest in “school shootings.” Fellow students were alarmed by the content and informed their parents, who then alerted police. He is also said to have boasted to classmates about his plans to “place a bomb in every second classroom,” and even use a 3D printer to create a firearm.

The teenager pled guilty to a charge under the Terrorist Act at the Glasgow High Court.
