Hollyoaks is taking us back in time this week with a very special episode that will document a fraction of the ‘missing’ year, with fan-favourite Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) set to return.
The long-running Channel 4 soap, as viewers will recall, took a time-jump into the future back in September, meaning that audiences didn’t get to see what their favourite characters got up to in that ‘missing’ gap of time.
But that all changes on Monday (April 7), with a throwback offering of the beloved serial taking us back in time to fill in a few of the blanks.
Fans will particularly be keen to know just how Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) is to blame for Tommy Odenkirk’s (Brandon Fellows) brother Billy winding up in a coma.
The flashback scenes will see Joel and Leela Dexter’s (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) marriage on the rocks, with the former struggling with a drug addiction.
As seen in the clip above – taken from the episode in question – Joel heads to the carpark outside The Dog to meet with his dealer, only the person waiting for him isn’t who he thinks.
It’s Warren!
The much-loved hard-man, as fans will recall, went on the run in Septemberafter a showdown with Dave Chen-Williams (Dominic Power) – who was revealed to be gangster Blue.
Upon setting his sights on his son, Warren punches Joel and quizzes him on his drug use – but just what will Joel make of his dad’s unexpected comeback?
Warren, meanwhile, confronts Arlo Fielding (Dan Hough) outside the hospital with as very special request.

Discussing his return to Hollyoaks, Jamie Lomas said: ‘There’s a lot the fans don’t know about the missing year and I’m excited to be a part of the special episode.
‘I always love coming back home to Hollyoaks.’
Elsewhere during the flashback scenes, Mercedes is left devastated when she is diagnosed with bowel cancer and Leela confides in the former pub landlady that she was raped.
It’s an episode not to be missed.
Hollyoaks’ flashback episode can be viewed from 6am Monday April 7 on Channel 4 streaming or catch it on E4 at 7pm.
