Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) is getting closer and closer to the truth about Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) disappearance in Emmerdale.

Steph’s granddad was murder by her mum Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) earlier this year. Once Ruby confessed to Caleb (William Ash), the couple learnt Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) believed he had killed the evil man after attacking him in the depot.

As the aftermath progressed, Ruby, Caleb, Aaron, John (Oliver Farnworth), Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) all created a pact regarding the truth about Anthony’s vanishing.

They agreed to keep it a secret for the sake of their families but also Steph, who doesn’t know her granddad is actually her biological father.

In tonight’s episode, Steph received a phone call from Anthony’s friend in France. She was immediately interested in what he had to say, and knew it was suspicious when she learnt Anthony hadn’t turned up to his pal’s wedding anniversary.

Listening into the conversation was Ruby, who grabbed the phone as soon as she learnt who Steph was talking to.

Ruby covered and managed to quickly kill the call. This deeply annoyed Steph, who couldn’t understand why her parents didn’t think Anthony suddenly disappearing wasn’t odd.

An overwhelmed Ruby then headed out for a walk. She made her way to the location in the woods where Anthony is buried, but didn’t realise Steph was following her.

Once Steph had watched what her mum was doing, she headed to the office at the depot. She rummaged through drawers but was caught by Caleb.

Back at Mill Cottage, Steph tried to confront Caleb and Ruby and yet still, they stuck to the lie.

Steph stormed out, leaving Caleb to comfort an overwhelmed Ruby.

She’s almost at the answer she’s been looking for, but how will Steph react if she really does discover what happened to her granddad?

‘I think she would definitely not throw her parents under the bus, that’s for sure’, star Georgia Jay said recently, discussing what her character would do if she learns the truth.

‘I don’t think she’d want anyone going down for it in that respect. In terms of being able to cope, I think that within the given circumstances you’re not going to want to rock the boat any more. You’re dealing with something on such a large scale that sending people down for murder and trying to focus on that avenue wouldn’t really help you much.

‘It’s a hard one to answer because I don’t think anyone would cope massively well. I definitely think she would stay true to her family.’
