Two children dead following fire in Aiken County, investigation underway

GLOVERVILLE, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office was called to Aiken Regional Medical Center shortly after 3:00 Monday morning to investigate the death of two Gloverville children following a residential fire.

The fire was reported at approximately 12:50 a.m. at a home on the 200 block of Pine Street.

Four children and their mother were transported to Aiken Regional Medical Centers and Doctors Hospital.

6-year-old Serahya Jordan was pronounced deceased at 1:57 and her sister, 8-year-old Deandolyn Jordan was pronounced deceased at 2:00 a.m. at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, a third sibling was transported to Doctors Hospital in critical condition.

The mother and fourth sibling were transported to Aiken Regional Medical Centers with non-life
threatening injuries.

Autopsies will be performed in Newberry to determine the cause of death.

The Coroner’s Office along with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and SLED are continuing with the investigation.
