Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was apparently summoned by the club’s management following another loss.
Amakhosi went down 2-0 to Richards Bay on Sunday afternoon at the King Zwelithini Stadium. The result left the Glamour Boys in eighth in the Betway Premiership after 22 matches. This was Chiefs’ third league defeat in recent matches.
According to Soccer Laduma, the meeting took place after Kaizer Chiefs lost to Richards Bay.
“It was a meeting about looking at how they can improve things. Everyone at the club knowns and believes that the team is on the right track and can do better than the way things are. So, in this meeting, it was not the normal post-game technical meeting.
Kaizer Chiefs looking for a way forward
“It was with the management who looked at the way forward on how they can improve things with the remaining games in the league and Nedbank Cup. it was like a brainstorming session, so to say,” the source revealed to the publication.
Kaizer Chiefs are looking to secure top eight finish after missing out last season. Three wins and two draws could be enough to see them secure top eight depending on other results.
Since Nabi’s arrival, the Soweto giants have brought in 10 new players. Only Makabi Lilepo, Rushwin Dortley and Thabo Cele have impressed. With 10 potential matches still to play, Amakhosi have enough time to turn their season around.
Kaizer Chiefs are also eyeing the Nedbank Cup having reached the semi-finals by beating Stellebosch. The club has not tasted silverware in 10 years despite reaching five finals.
