A Japanese and Korean food brand is recalling batches of its sushi ginger over fears it contains pieces of glass.

Kelly Loves, which sells products such as kimchi, noodles and sauces, is urging people to return the jars as soon as possible.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA), which issued the recall, said the affected product was sold in ASDA and Waitrose.

It described the product as ‘unsafe to eat’.

It adds: ‘If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Sushi Daily kiosk for a refund. For further information, please contact Kelly Loves at: [email protected].’

The affected product are the 150ml jars which have a best before date of February 9th 2026 and the affected batch number is UK12019.

A statement from the company, which was published by the FSA, said: ‘Kelly Loves is recalling specific batch of SUSHI GINGER due to a potential risk of glass contamination.

‘While the product has been removed from shelves as precautionary measure, we are now extending the recall to consumers who may have purchased the affected product.

‘Other Kelly Loves Sushi Ginger batches/products are not affected by this recall.

‘Customers are advised not to consume this product batch. We would like you to kindly return the affected product to the store you purchased from, and you will be granted a full refund (no receipt required).

‘We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your cooperation.’
