The United States has included Pakistan in a list of countries that could face a partial suspension of U.S. visa issuance if their governments do not address specific deficiencies within 60 days.
This is part of a broader proposal by the Trump administration to impose travel restrictions on citizens from dozens of countries, divided into three groups.
A US official speaking on the condition of anonymity cautioned there could be changes on the list and that it was yet to be approved by the administration, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The memo lists a total of 41 countries divided into three separate groups according to sources familiar with the matter and an internal memo seen by Reuters.
Full visa suspension
The first group includes 10 countries, such as Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea, which would face a complete halt on visa issuance
