
The Cheltenham Festival 2025 comes to a thrilling conclusion on Gold Cup Day with some eye-watering prize money set to be awarded to the successful owners, trainers and jockeys on the final day of action.
It has been a record-breaking week with £4,930,000 up for grabs in total, with an extra £115,000 in the pot compared to last year’s Festival.
And the richest prize this week is reserved for today’s Gold Cup as Galopin Des Champs goes for a historic hat-trick in the marquee race.

How much prize money is on offer at Cheltenham Festival 2025?
A total of £4,930,000 will be divided across 28 races, with the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner awarded the biggest prize of the week.

What is the prize money for the Gold Cup?
The total prize money for the Gold Cup stands at a whopping £625,000. Out of that prize pot, the winner is set to receive £363,999.38, with the rest of the money divided up between the other jockeys based on their respective finishes.
How much prize money do jockeys win?
Each prize is divided up among the horse’s various owners, trainers and their staff and the jockey.
From the total prize money haul, jockeys usually take between 8 and 9 per cent of the winnings. For jockeys who place, they can expect to take around 3.5 per cent.
There is also a guaranteed riding fee for jump races which last year was set at £164.74.
