A Polish zoo is offering the broken-hearted an experience to remember on Valentine’s Day.

Anyone hoping to get revenge on their ex can now do just that – by naming a cockroach after their partner and then feeding it to a meerkat.

Łódź zoo is even offering a VIP package deal to jilted lovers, giving them the opportunity to personally feed the ex-named cockroach to its predator.

Posting on its website, the zoo said: ‘Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and you’ve just gone through a breakup? No worries!

‘Orientarium Zoo Łódź has a unique way to help you get through this tough time.

‘The Łódź Zoo has prepared a special offer for those who aren’t in the mood for Valentine’s celebrations.

‘The fresh wound of a breakup can be soothed with… adopting a Madagascar hissing cockroach!’

Angry ex’s have three adoption options to choose from to find the closure they are looking for.

The basic package, costing only 50 Polish złoty (£10) allows you to adopt a cockroach and give it a name.

You’ll even receive a digital adoption certificate to frame on your wall.

The premium package goes one step further, giving you a photo of the moment when your ex in cockroach form is devoured by one of the zoo’s animals.

The premium package comes in at only 150 Polish złoty (£30).

The VIP package offers a revenge experience unlike any other.

After adopting and naming your chosen cockroach, you can then personally feed the critter to a meerkat at the zoo.

This will only set heart-broken singletons back by 300 Polish złoty, or £60.

All funds raised from the cockroach feeding frenzy will go straight to the Pangolin Foundation, which works to restore damaged parts of natural habitats and support endangered species.

Meerkats mainly insects, such as grubs and termites, but will also eat small vertebrates, eggs and some plant matter.

Cockroaches are a calorie-rich snack for meerkats, so the experience will be a treat for them too.
